MyEye Is Not Charging

Before troubleshooting, please ensure the following:
 

1. Update to the Latest Software Version

Outdated software may affect charging behavior.

2. Confirm the Device Is Being Charged Correctly

Troubleshooting Steps

If the device is still not charging, try the steps below to isolate the issue:

A. Test the Power Source

  • Try charging the device using a different wall outlet or socket.

B. Replace the Magnetic Charger Piece

  • Replace the magnetic charger piece inserted into the micro-USB inlet on the back of the MyEye with one of the spare magnetic pieces that came in the box.
  • The magnetic charger piece is designed to fit snugly.
    If you find it difficult to remove, please contact support and we will guide you through the process.

C. Test Different Cable and Charger Combinations

We recommend using the official OrCam charging cable and OrCam wall charger.
However, when troubleshooting, if steps A and B do not resolve the issue, try these combinations:

  1. Use the OrCam charging cable + magnetic charger piece with a different wall charger.
  2. Remove the magnetic charger piece and use another charging cable with the OrCam wall charger.
  3. Remove the magnetic charger piece and try another cable + another wall charger.

Charging Indicators

When the device is OFF:

  • The device makes a distinct “beep” when connected to a charger.
  • The LED lights will turn on.

When the device is ON:

  • The device will announce: “charger connected” or “charger disconnected.”
