MyEye Can't Pair With Bluetooth

Note:

OrCam supplies Bluetooth earphones that pair with OrCam devices. The OrCam MyEye also supports many Bluetooth 4.2 earphones and speakers.
However, we recommend testing compatibility before purchasing, as different manufacturers may use slightly different Bluetooth protocols that can cause pairing issues.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Make Sure Both Devices Are Charged

Confirm that both the OrCam MyEye and the Bluetooth earphones have sufficient battery power.


2. Make Sure Both Devices Are in Pairing Mode

Activate Bluetooth pairing mode on the OrCam MyEye using a voice command:

Say: “Connect to Bluetooth audio device.”
Follow the spoken prompts.

Or activate pairing through the Settings menu:

  1. Swipe forwards to Connectivity Settings Menu, then tap to select.
  2. Tap Bluetooth Settings Menu.
  3. Tap Connect to Bluetooth Audio Device and follow the prompts.

3. If Using OrCam Earphones

  • OrCam Earphones automatically enter pairing mode when powered on.
  • If pairing fails, try connecting the OrCam Earphones to a different device (e.g., a smartphone).

If the OrCam Earphones do not pair with another device, please submit a case: https://www.orcam.com/en/submit-a-case/

If the OrCam Earphones do connect to another device, then the issue is likely with the Bluetooth list on the MyEye.


4. Forget All Bluetooth Devices on the MyEye

  1. Enter the Settings menu.

  2. Go to Connectivity Settings Menu.
  3. Tap Bluetooth Settings Menu.
  4. Swipe forward to Forget All Bluetooth Devices and tap to select.
  5. Follow the prompts.

Then try pairing again.


5. If You Are Using Third-Party (Non-OrCam) Earphones

  • Confirm that the Bluetooth device supports Bluetooth 4.2.
  • Read the earphone or speaker’s pairing instructions carefully.
  • Some devices require long presses, double taps, or special button sequences to enter pairing mode.
